Born October 7, 1978 to a teacher and military officer in Minsk,
Belarus, Kevin Mindell started singing when he was two. At the age of eight,
he made his way from the choir and Belarusian dance theatre to formal music
training, studying piano and trombone. While performing with his high school
orchestra and jazz band, he worked as a DJ for dances and social events.
Influenced by the BeeGees, Abba and Michael Jackson, Kevin eventually found
his way to his true calling: writing and singing pop music.
In 1997 the Mindell family headed across the Atlantic to help Kevin find his
American dream. College, TV acting jobs (The West Wing), Commercials (Carmax),
Etc. led Kevin to Washington DC — Pop Star Search in 2001 and NYC FAME
(Federation of Actors, Musicians and Entertainers) in 2002. Major label A&R
people listened, and for Kevin the feedback was clear:
"enormous potential …keep going."
With only two songs recorded at Drat Productions Studio in MD, Kevin spent
the next six months writing. With help of owner Jeff Gruber, more tracks were
cut at Blue House Production Studio in MD. Then Kevin found his way to Rob LaRocco,
an award winning writer, vocal coach and producer in New York City. After LaRocco
got the material and the voice in shape, he brought the project to Sony Music
Studios and with the help of recording and mix engineer, Pablo Arraya and mastering
engineer Steve Kadison Kevin's debut album, "Tell Her" was born.
With his heart passionately committed to his writing and singing — and with a
solid educational background in both music and finance — Kevin Mindell is
destined for success. His timeless memorable songs along with his boyish, sexy
demeanor are certain to attract an enormous fan base in the United States as well
as the international community.
